I can’t say that we have really gotten into the World Cup this year like back in 2006, when it was here in Germany. That was really a once-in-a-lifetime summer, truly awesome. Nevertheless, we have been following all of the games and while the U.S. was booted out yesterday by Ghana, we were all very relieved that ‘Schland beat England 4:1 today.
Of course it’s all just a game and there are more important things in the world, but we all get really wound up about it here. It’s a lot of fun, that’s for sure. Especially when Germany’s playing well, which means I can watch the match instead of pacing around the apartment like an asshole.
And now it’s on to the quarter finals on Saturday against Argentina and cocaine-lovin’ Maradona.
