Dear Internet…

This has been a week for the annals of assdom, y’all. Work: Layoffs. Home: Husband and baby very sick. Me: Not as drunk as I’d like to be.

I won’t be getting laid off, at least not in the short-to-medium term, but I think many of my beloved colleagues will be. The whole dynamic of the workplace is about to change, and it is just really shitty.

The good news is that Björn is finally on the mend, and Harper has gone days without a fever and there seems to be much less snot living in her nose. And I am hoping that my sore throat stays at just that.

Kids, I seriously hope we can make it to the States in May. I am in serious need of some hometown lovin’.

Hellooooo? States in May? Any east coast happening this time?

I feel your pain regarding the workplace dynamic. We've had layoffs in the past, which are traumatic in their own right, but the change that it brings to the interpersonal work environment can be just as horrible.

My 2 best friends at work are leaving in April and they are also 2 people that really make this place a good place to work for everyone. The rest of us have trouble being proactively convivial without them. And that's on a good day.
Sucks ass

I'm so sorry about work. It's pretty hard to watch friends and coworkers have to leave, and then you have to come in every day and do your job like you're thrilled to and lucky to be there. Plus you have more work to do. It's a constant reminder. But, you've got pretty great things to come home to. And that matters more than you ever thought possible, right? Plus, Bjorn's cute. Surely he can bring some cash in on the side ...
