I gave Harper a small package of the promised gummy bears when we got back from the park just now. And I surreptitiously downed a mini-pack of M&Ms left over from Halloween, and NO, I didn’t want to share them. When Harper finished her gummy bears, she asked for more with her sign for gummy bears – cocking her head to the side, squinting cutely and pointing to the palm of her hand. When I refused, she demanded to look in my mouth (the M&Ms long gone) and said, “Mama! Cocoa! Harper"!”
Damn. And this is why I don’t even want to bother with lying to her about Santa, the Easter Bunny and all of their made-up cohorts.
